Claude Cowork Is No Longer Limited to the Desktop
Claude Cowork was originally designed to help users complete multi step tasks across connected services such as email, calendars, messaging apps, files, and the web. Until now, many of these tasks depended on keeping the Claude Desktop application open and the computer awake.
That requirement has now been removed for the new mobile and web experience. Users can assign work from their phone, close their laptop, attend meetings, or leave the office while Claude continues processing requests in the background.
For example, a user can ask Claude to gather information from email conversations, Slack discussions, meeting transcripts, and recent online news to prepare a client briefing. Claude can then draft a follow up email and wait for the user to review it before anything is sent.
