SQtv Episode #4: Demo 2012 (Interviews + coverage)

Posted on Friday, 23 November by

On November 21st, the National Union of Students (NUS) and thousands of its members gathered in Central London to march in protest against education reform in a movement titled ‘Demo 2012: Educate, Employ, Empower’.

After the last NUS demonstration in 2010 ended in unflattering terms with a minority of breakaway protesters attacking Conservative HQ, the latest campaign was under pressure to deliver the same impact, but without the controversy.

SQ Magazine’s political correspondent Josh Babarinde speaks to NUS President Liam Burns, the Union’s representative for Black Students and a long line of demonstrators to find out why people were still angry at the coalition government more than two years after the last demonstration.
