Partnership to Power AI for All
In a bold step toward democratizing access to artificial intelligence, Reliance and Google have launched a limited-period offer under which Jio customers aged 18 to 25 on eligible Unlimited 5G plans will receive Google’s AI Pro plan for free, starting October 30.
The bundled plan offers a range of AI-driven features and tools:
- Gemini 2.5 Pro access through the Gemini app.
- Unlimited AI chat and enhanced content generation.
- Image creation via Nano Banana model.
- Video generation using Veo 3.1.

Users can activate the offer via the MyJio App, with the entire package valued at INR 35,100 per user.
Bigger Vision: India as an AI Powerhouse
Speaking about the initiative, Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, said the company wants to make India “AI-empowered” where every citizen and enterprise can access powerful tools to create, innovate, and grow. He emphasized the goal of reaching 1.45 billion Indians with intelligent services.
Beyond consumer offerings, the collaboration also extends into enterprise AI:
- Reliance Intelligence will act as a strategic Google Cloud partner in India.
- It will become the launch partner for Google’s new Gemini Enterprise platform in India.
- The plan includes support for TPU-based AI model training within the country.
- The platform aims to create custom AI agents for regulated, data-heavy sectors.
This AI integration aligns with Reliance’s broader tech roadmap. In August, the company officially launched Reliance Intelligence, a wholly owned AI subsidiary tasked with building gigawatt-scale data centers and delivering consumer-friendly AI solutions.
Recently, Reliance also formed a joint venture with Facebook Overseas Inc, creating Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Limited (REIL) with an investment of INR 855 crore, where Reliance holds 70 percent and Facebook 30 percent.
Taking on the Competition
This move mirrors a recent offer by Airtel, which announced a free one-year Perplexity Pro subscription for its users. Perplexity has seen strong traction, clocking 45.2 million Indian visitors in a month, almost double the U.S. traffic, according to Semrush data.
With AI players like Anthropic also exploring a partnership with Reliance, the Indian AI race is heating up quickly.
SQ Magazine Takeaway
Honestly, this is huge. As someone watching India’s tech evolution closely, I see this as a game-changer. Giving millions of young Indians access to top-tier AI tools, for free, is no small deal. It levels the playing field. Whether you’re a student, small business owner, or a creator, now you get the same tools Silicon Valley uses. This is the kind of aggressive innovation we need to truly unlock India’s digital potential. Hats off to both Reliance and Google for making it happen.
