Google invested in the startup, and its cloud division signed a deal to supply computing capacity. The arrangement keeps Alphabet financially tied to the people who just walked out. The names carry more weight than the count. Dean spent **27 years** at Google, co-founded Google Brain in 2011, and served as chief scientist of **Google DeepMind** after Pichai merged Brain with DeepMind in 2023.
