Bastille and Arctic Monkeys were the most streamed acts in Brighton on Spotify in 2013

Spotify have released data detailing the listening habits of the UK’s 22 biggest towns and cities and unsurprisingly some of names that topped the charts last year are leading the way.

It’s turned out that the entire country was absolutely obsessed with Bastille last year (we even interviewed them), as the pop-rock band topped nearly every city’s list with Arctic Monkeys and Daft Punk shortly behind them in almost every region.

Make of the subtle differences what you will, Suffolk-born deep house duo Disclosure made an appearance in both south-east regions London and Brighton but not in Birmingham, where rappers Eminem and Drake fared better.

One Direction remained as popular as ever, appearing in 17 locations. For those wondering where the places they haven’t yet infiltrated are: Brighton, London, Derby, Newcastle and Plymouth. Well done to you guys – that is some achievement.
