WATCH: Sir David Attenborough’s alternative curling commentary

Posted on Wednesday, 19 February by

The sport of curling and most of the games at this year’s Winter Olympics will be unfamiliar to some of us but there’s no better way to get us in-tune with Sochi than to stick a perplexed Sir David Attenborough into a commentary booth.

BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James convinced the iconic natural history presenter to provide ‘alternative commentary’ for a curling match between Great Britain and the United States.

Suddenly, curling seems like a thing of immense beauty with Attenborough proclaiming:

Off she goes, gently but flamboyantly launching the oversized walnut down the frozen river. The alpha female’s job is complete, now it’s up to the herd to frantically follow the walnut down the river, gently frisking the foreground…this is nature at it’s most vulnerable.

Next week, Sir David Attenborough takes on Match of the Day.
