WATCH: The Jamaican Bobsled Team have released an Olympics anthem

Posted on Friday, 21 February by

Ever so slightly racist, Disney’s 1993 Cool Runnings film has forever given the world a soft spot for the Jamaican Winter Olympics team, in particular their Bobsled team.

This year’s crop competing in Sochi have dubbed themselves the “second coming of Cool Runnings” and have decidedly released a song to celebrate their participation in the 2014 games.

The “Bobsled Song” was written by Sidney Mills, of reggae band ‘Steel Pulse’ fame, Jon Notar and Groove Guild. Alongside the track an 8-bit video game version of the bobsled run the Jamaicans will go down, what else?

Apparently if you play the video from the start of the actual bobsled run it will time exactly with the finish. Well, there’s only one way to test that claim…
