Eastbourne’s Kings nightclub gets £1m revamp

Posted on Wednesday, 3 October by

Kings Nightclub, Eastbourne’s longest-serving nightspot, will be the subject of a million pound refurbishment programme this winter before re-opening under a new name, ‘Cameo’.

The club, which is owned by Luminar Leisure, has been open under the ‘Kings’ name for more than 28 years and outlived many of the town’s other venues that have been and gone in that time, but rumours of refurbishment have been swirling for months.

Luminar confirmed the move earlier today, launching the Cameo Eastbourne page on Facebook and revealing that work will commence when Kings closes its doors on November 18th. They’ve already revealed an artist’s impression of how Cameo will look after the revamp, a stark change from the dimly lit club that Eastbourne is currently used to.

This should serve as a welcome boost to nightlife in Eastbourne. Things looked to be on the rise when Tonic opened late last year, but management problems meant that they had to hastily shut down operations this summer.

For more info on Cameo, visit their Facebook page and keep your eyes peeled for updates.
