For anyone thinking that the procession of the Olympic Torch wasn’t much to shout about, think again. It’s been announced that chart-topping duo and former SQ cover-stars Rizzle Kicks will be carrying the Torch through the streets of Eastbourne tomorrow afternoon.
Rizzle Kicks, Jordan “Rizzle” Stephens and Harley “Sylvester” Alexander-Sule, are both from nearby Brighton and have been making torch related appearances over the last few days, headlining parties in Portsmouth and will be doing the same later tomorrow in Hastings, after they become torchbearers.
The Olympic Torch makes its way to Eastbourne from 15.18 in Kings Drive before making its way through the town and eventually reaching a convoy heading towards Pevensey Bay at 16.39. And people dared to say that the London games wouldn’t be organised!
Eastbourne has gone all out to create a carnival atmosphere for the passing of the Torch, and hope to make a statement having been left out of the Torch’s national route originally. The town’s streets look to be lined with local musicians and entertainment, hopefully enough to please the thousands expected to turn out.
