Ashdown Workshop launch debut collection

Posted on Thursday, 3 May by

When an independent fashion start-up grabs our attention, it’s usually for very good reason. A quick glance at Sussex-based Ashdown Workshop’s debut range of handmade leather goods really did tell us all we needed to know; that this brand are taking things seriously and are loaded with some seriously impressive products.

Ashdown Workshop was formed to create quality, handmade and handcrafted leather goods and small accessories – quite simply, clean looking products with a modern twist. This family-run firm felt that this area is very much dominated by USA brands, and wanted to bring things back to the UK with their quality touch.

They’ve initially launched with a small but solid range of products including wallets, iPad cases, belts and small accessories – but we’ve been told to expect more things including accessories which tie in the brand’s love for photography, handmade camera cases and straps, with the view to soon branch into carry goods and bags.

The attention to detail with this range is easy to spot, the company works with original antique leather tools – not a plastic part or stanley knife in sight. All of the products are hand-cut and hand-stitched, a technique now rarely used due to the affordable access and speed of modern sewing machines.

Ashdown Workshop have told us all to know that “you are buying a product that is hand crafted with care, looks the part, takes care of the job functionally, a product that will last for years,” – we can’t wait for more to come.
