Gig Preview: City of Ashes + more @ The Pav Tav (June 9th, 8pm)

Posted on Thursday, 9 June by

Whether it be at Sussex or Brighton, if you’re a uni student then the chances are you’re a bit frantic right now. End of year exams are upon us and all across the county students are pulling out their hair and studying hard. Right? I doubt it.

What better way to ignore those impending exams than throwing caution to the wind and heading down to The Pav Tav for a night of awesomeness with City of Ashes, Run Young Lovers, Wasp Factory, and Juno Jakob.

Travelling Minstrel, kind of, Juno Jakob trawls across the country with his guitar on his back and harmonica by his side crooning lyric driven folk ballads to anyone who’ll listen. Citing Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan as his influences this guy will definitely ease the audience into the night.

For fans of The Strokes and The Libertines pop/indie three-piece The Wasp Factory, whose name brings terrifying images to mind, will takes us through some of their great tracks like “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?” and “Joanna”.

Escaping Crawley for the night Run Young Lovers can be expected to wow the crowds with their sing-a-long choruses and dynamic style that rightly makes them a band to watch. For fans of The Wombats and Foals.

Eastbourne post-hardcore gods City of Ashes are making a name for themselves of late with features in the media on both sides of the pond. With fame fast approaching it really is advisable to grab the chance to see these guys while you can. Leave it too late and you’ll be paying a lot more than £2.

£2 entry. 8 till late. 18+.
